2012

Two days into the new year and shit is already, as they say, getting real. Get these into you.
CHAO - Behind Shadows by TERRATVR POSSESSIONS
CHAO are from Iceland, and along with their countrymen in SVARTIDAUDI will have a debut album this year out via Terratur Possesions. Both of these albums are going to be solid as fuck. Mark my words.

Promethean Age by Fuil Na Seanchoille
The FUIL NA SEANCHOILLE full length, "Hunger", has just come out on Tour De Garde. The two previous demos are being released on vinyl via Me Saco Uno Ojo any minute now. This and the upcoming SODB demo that's due out in the next month or so are proof that Irish people can actually do black metal properly, thanks. Also keeping it local, the ZOM demo is out (and nearly sold out) via Invictus but more about that later.

Over in Portugal, the Discipline sub label of Bubonic Productions have just unleashed this bevy of utter degradation:
I"
New cds by SATANIZE and BLACK HOWLING, two SVARTRIT tapes, a MONS VENERIS/DECREPITUDE split 7", and a new issue of INVOCATIO zine. I'm still wading through the batch they put out before Xmas (which featured lps by CRIPTA OCCULTA and BLACK CILICE),but I'm moderately obsessed with this label right now, so expect more about D's releases in the near future.

Finally for now,the new S.T.A.B ELECTRONICS lp is out today. "The Non-Alliant II"'s Jamie Gillis obsessed power electronic filth presumably picks up where last year's "The Non-Alliant I" left off. It works because it genuinely is unsettling. Proceed with caution. Ordering via Unsound

I don't have any plans for any kind of "best of 2011" list - partially because I always forget stuff, partially because there was a lot of good records but not a lot of great ones, and partially because..well,I posted fuck all on here in 2011 due to other activities sapping most of my free time, so who really cares what I think?
